Thunder
Thunder strikes again,
Ravens fly off too quickly.
A storm is onward.
Fall
Under the big tree,
Jolly squirrels play about,
And few leaves fall around.
Summer
So bright are the rays
when my windows I open;
Little birds escape.
Winter
Such is the crystal snow,
It stops my candle's glow,
And keeps me warm at home.
I was going for a set of haikus centered on the theme of the seasons, but I ended up with fewer words per line.
To this day, I still find this poem simple yet comforting. You should really try writing a poem today; whether it's just a blurt of random thoughts or something that rhymes, just play with the words!
That's all I have for today. Have a great week!
This poem beautifully captures the essence of each season in just a few lines. The imagery and emotions are vivid. Well done!
This is impressive for a first poem! I still shudder trying to remember my first few, let alone the very first.
